About the Course

A master’s degree in pharmaceutical science offers students the advantage of increased career opportunities and flexibility in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate should have passed B.Pharm degree examination of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or B.Pharm degree from any other University recognised by PCI with 50% of marks.

Attendance Requirement

A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in Theory and Practical subjects individually to be eligible to appear for the respective final examinations.

Assessment System

The Annual Examination will be conducted over a total of 75 marks each in the Theory & Practical sections. Candidates who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Theory (including sessional) and Practical (including sessional) separately in any subject shall be deemed to have passed in that respective subject. During the second year students will carry out project for a period of 1 year in the respective department and then thesis will be evaluated by the university examiners every academic year.

Internal Assessment

The internal assessment marks allocated for continuous mode of internal assessment shall be awarded based on attendance (8 marks) and student-teachers interaction (2 marks) for 10 marks in total. The experiment of the respective subject carry 15 marks, and the total internal assessment is for 25 marks. The university shall conduct the exam for 75 marks.

Practical

The practical internal assessment marks allocated for continues mode of internal assessment shall be awarded to attendance and practical records, regular viva voce experimental work for a total of 25 marks for the internal assessment and the university shall conduct the exam for 65 marks, and the total marks is for 90 in the respective subject pertaining to the specialisation. For the common subject (Modern Pharmaceutical Analytical Technique) the university shall conduct the exam for 35 marks.

Schedule of Exams

Two sessional examination will be conducted for 25 marks in both theory and practical. University examination will be conducted for 75 marks for 1st and 2nd semester at the end of the semester. Project work should be of submitted as a part of 3rd and 4th semester for which viva voce shall be conduct by the university examiner on their dissertation work for 500 marks.
