Bachelor of Pharmacy Lateral Entry

Welcome to Bachelor of Pharmacy course, where you are in the journey of becoming a Pharmacist!

About the Course

After completing a diploma in pharmacy, students are eligible to directly join the IInd year of the B. Pharm program, which has a duration of 3 years under this scheme. 10% of the students, based on the approved intake, will be admitted.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed 10+2 / ‘A’ Level or its equivalent from any Board or Council with 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology / Zoology / Computer Science.

Attendance Requirement

A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in Theory and Practical subjects individually to be eligible to appear for the respective final examinations.

Assessment System

The Annual Examination is conducted over a total of 70 marks each in the Theory & Practical sections. Candidates who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Theory (including sessional) and Practical (including sessional) separately in any subject shall be deemed to have passed in that respective subject. Please note that every candidate shall have to undertake practical training in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing House / Approved Hospital / CSIR research lab for a period of not less than one hundred and fifty hours after the completion of the final academic year of the B.Pharm course.

Internal Assessment

The Internal assessment consists of 2 sessional examinations every semester of the academic years. The average marks of the 2 examinations shall be considered for both theory and practical course as per the schedule given by the college. The average marks of 2 sessional exams shall be considered for the university exams.

Practical

Students are expected to perform the experiments listed in the respective syllabus. Each practical exercise is awarded 10 marks each. A final average shall be computed on an overall score of 10 marks. The three practical sessional examinations are evenly spread during each academic year. The average marks of the best two practical examinations shall be computed on an overall score of 20 marks. The final sessional award is evaluated on a cumulative score of 30 marks.

Schedule of Exams

Two sessional examinations conducted for 25 in theory and 15 for practical by the institution similarly university will conduct end semester exam for 75 in theory and 35 for practical. In 7th semester practice school consist of 25 hrs where internal marks is allotted for 25 by the internal assessment and 125 marks for the end semester examination by the university.
